The Brooklyn Tour

Can you spare six hours? On SwingStreets’ tour of New York’s most populous borough, you’ll see a wide range of neighborhoods, each with its own architectural character and ethnic flavor. And hey, there’s no need to walk all the way! We travel between these neighborhoods via subway and bus.

First we’ll explore Park Slope, which has undergone a remarkable transformation in recent years to become Brooklyn’s Gold Coast.  By any measure, it’s become one of the city’s most desirable places to live, shop and dine.

Then we'll ride a subway to Brighton Beach, where the language most commonly heard on the streets is Russian.

A ten-minute stroll along the oceanfront boardwalk brings us to Coney Island, a century-old seaside playground now in the midst of a promising revival.

Next, it’s world-famous Flatbush, where the stunning Victorian mansions in genteel Prospect Park South are just steps from a bustling West Indian business district.

In Carroll Gardens and Cobble Hill – two more gorgeous brownstone neighborhoods – we'll check out the varied ethnic cuisines on offer along Smith St., the newest of Brooklyn's highly touted restaurant rows.

We’ll wrap up our adventure in prestigious Brooklyn Heights, whose luckiest residents enjoy jaw-dropping views of the Manhattan skyline.

Finally, for dessert, we’ll return to Manhattan with a stroll over the Brooklyn Bridge.
